Any man's death diminishes me, because
I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell
tolls; it tolls for thee." by
John Donne
This memorial page is dedicated to those who walked the halls of Grants High
School with us as classmates, soul mates and friends that have passed away. No
matter of the steps they took or might have taken after high school, they all
effected us in one way or another in the formative years of our lives, if we
took the time to acquaint ourselves with them. Some perished during their youth,
while we knew them as young and full of life, others in more seasoned times.
They all share some things in common, they were GHS Pirates and they left behind
people to remember them fondly. So remember them as we knew them, full of life,
laughter and a spirit that we know lives on in their families, their classmates
and their friends. So long as we remember them, they live on in all of us.
If you have factual information on the deceased, please forward it to me and
I will add it beside their pictures. Thanks to Mary Alice Munson (Hensinger),
Judy Doshier (Hassell) and Jim Devenport for their help with the pictures.
A special thanks to Jeff Hately, class of 1969, for inspiring this page.
Thanks to Jim Devenport class of 65, Judy (69) and Earl Hassell (67) and Pam
Johnson for their contribution of pictures and information for this page.

Bonomo, Paul
|
|
| |
Paul M. Bonomo, 56, passed away on Jan. 30, 2006, after a
three-year battle with lung cancer. He was born on Jan. 26, 1950, to
John and Margaret Bonomo of Springer, N.M.
Mr. Bonomo graduated from New Mexico State University and in 1976
started his engineering career at Hewlett Packard, now Agilent
Technologies, as a hard working and sincere employee. He was privileged
to work on challenging projects around some of the electronics
industry’s brightest individuals and was awarded several patents for his
creative inventions of new manufacturing methods. He was a practical
person who could fix almost anything mechanical.
One of Mr. Bonomo’s most treasured experiences was being Cub Master
for Loveland Troop 81 from 1996 to 2000, helping cub scouts with
pinewood derby clinics and outdoor adventure trips. His interests
included glass blowing, motorcycling, football, winemaking, Mexican food
and canoeing. He selflessly gave of his time for volunteer jobs with
humor, uniqueness, and commitment to excellence. He was a good
storyteller who could pound square words into round holes. Instead of
burial, Mr. Bonomo always wanted to be stuffed so that his friends and
family could be perpetually entertained by his warped sense of humor.
Loyal to his Catholic faith, he was a member of St. John’s the
Evangelist Catholic Church of Loveland, Colo.
Mr. Bonomo is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 25 years
Gail Bonomo; his four children Daniel Zorlon of Fort Collins, Colo.,
Brandy Yvette of St. Michaels, Md., David Xylon and John Winter Bonomo
of Loveland, Colo., and his siblings, their spouses and children Robert
and Billy Jean Bonomo of Clafin, Kans., Anne and Dr. Mario Maiese of
Cherry Hill, N.J., and Thomas and Pat Bonomo of Cottonwood, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and many loving aunts and
uncles.
Viewing and visitation took place on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at Goes
Funeral Care in Fort Collins, Colo. Recitation of the rosary was held on
Monday, Feb. 6, at St John’s Catholic Church in Loveland, Colo.,
followed by the Mass of the Resurrection.
Friends may send flowers or memorial contributions to the Boy Scouts
of America Longs Peak Council, Catholic Charities of Northern Colorado,
or to the Human Taxidermy Entertainment Association thru Goes Funeral
Care and Crematory, 3665 Canal Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80524, (970)
482-2221 or www.goesfuneralcare.com.

David would have graduated with the Class of 1968. He was killed, while
serving in the Armed forces in Viet Nam. HOLD THAT THOUGHT! Again the
reports of his demise are premature! David was reported KIA due to his
name being on the Viet Nam Memorial Wall in Washington. Recently, I saw, as
many of us that are Classmates.com members, that he had listed his name on
Classmates. I contacted him through them and got this reply on May
1, 2003. I'm in Amarillo, Tx. I have been here for about 27 years. I work
for Tyson here. As you can see I'm not KIA. I was was over there (Viet Nam)
for almost 2 years. I hope that I will be able to go to the reunion. You
know that you are the first one from the class that I have heard from!!!!!
David
If you are a classmates member send him an email and invite him to the
reunion.

We placed the wreaths upon the splendid granite
sarcophagus, and at its feet, and felt that only the earthly robe we loved
so much was there. The pure, tender, loving spirit which loved us so
tenderly, is above us - loving us, praying for us, and free from all
suffering and woe - yes, that is a comfort, and that first birthday in
another world must have been a far brighter one than any in this poor world
below!
